Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant performs a variety of dental assisting duties while promoting quality dental care for patients and a safe environment of minimal stress. Assists the dentists, teaches the patients how to care for teeth, communicates effectively with patients/parents, maintains equipment and inventory, and follows universal precautions and all OSHA requirements.Essential Functions
Greets and seat patients, reviews health history, takes vitals, and follows “Rooming patients” process;
Prepares and assists with exams and any other dental procedure ordered by Dentist as well as nitrous oxide when ordered by Dentist;
Takes impressions of patients' teeth as ordered by Dentist;
Exposes oral radiographs as ordered by Dentist;
Contributes when developing infection control protocol as needed;
Prepares and sterilizes instruments and equipment;
Quickly and efficiently completes turn over in operatories;
Helps patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment;
Provides patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures as ordered by Dentist;
Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance by following the posted checklists, signs off as completed;
Participates in Policy and Process maintenance for Dental pod as assigned;
Check patients out with patient support staff per process;
Accurately inputs CDT and ICD-10 codes into EHR as ordered by Dentist;
Displays professional interpersonal communication, self-motivation, and professional conflict resolution;
Performs other duties as assigned by Dentist and/or Dental Manager
Dental Assistant

Must have current CPR certification.

Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Dental Assistant with YesCare:
Prepares operatory with appropriate instruments and material for the patients scheduled to be seen.
Assists dentist during treatment, providing instruments, material retraction or suction. Sterilizes instruments and disinfects operatory between patients.
Schedules patients for dental appointments.
Performs laboratory procedures such as mixing impression material for dentures and assists in the clinical procedures of prosthetic dentistry.
Develops and mounts routine radiographs. Assists in maintaining dental charts, records dental findings.
Follows security regulations for keys, sharps and controlled medications. Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
Adheres to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
Inventories and orders supplies to maintain proper levels.

Dental Hygienist
indeed - Riverton, WY
Experience & Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of one (1) year of experience
Must have completed accredited training appropriate to the field.
Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report.
Required to exert up to 50 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body.
Required to kneel, stoop, crouch and / or crawl occasionally.
Must have and maintain sufficient strength, agility, and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental and emotional) situations encountered on the job without compromising your health and well-being or that of your fellow employees or that of inmates.
A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

Responsibilities:
Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Dental Hygienist with YesCare:
Scale and polish teeth and roots. Remove sutures. Take study models. Polish amalgam restorations. Place and remove rubber dams.
Assist dentist in administering fluoride treatments. Instruct inmates in proper dental hygiene. Develop oral hygiene education program for inmates.
Assist dentist in completing diagnostic x-rays.
Record all aspects of treatment provided and other pertinent information in the inmate's dental record.
Initiate and maintain recall program for additional instructions and treatment for inmates whose condition and/or attitude indicate a need. Also a follow-up prophylaxis treatment in a specific time interval.
Check and maintain instruments, equipment and supplies including ordering replacements and submitting work orders.
Ensure proper clean-up, packaging and sterilizing of instruments. Maintain a clean and orderly working environment. Instruct dental assistant in proper techniques and other training as directed
Perform dental assessments when required. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Flexible with schedule. Either 4 hours per week or 8 hours ever other week.

Responsibilities:
Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Dentist with YesCare.
Perform and interpret radiographic exams as needed.
Provide dental treatment, including emergency treatment of the teeth and surrounding soft tissue, such as oral surgery, restorative dentistry and periodontal therapy within the scope of a general Dentistry, including extractions. Correct significant oral problems, which may adversely affect inmate’s health as, deemed necessary.
Make proper referral for procedures, which cannot be performed at facility.
Report any unusual occurrences or accidents to the site or Regional Medical Director.

The Dental Hygienist must possess the ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and enhance teamwork in the clinic
and in the overall CHCCW organization. This position requires individual flexibility, initiative and the ability to handle several complex tasks at once.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure and pulse
Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth
Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health
Making impressions of patients' teeth for study casts
Performing documentation and office management activities
Experience:

Prior Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) (Preferred)
