The Dental Hygienist is a critical part of the Doctor-directed oral hygiene team. This role is responsible for patient education, the delivery of preventative and periodontal dental treatment, and patient database collection and documentation.

To assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental’s culture and mission and values.
Responsibilities
Welcome and escort patient in a professional and friendly manner from reception area to and from the treatment areas.
Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory and re-order when necessary.
Take and record patient’s medical and dental histories and vital signs, blood pressure & pulse.
Document/chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per Dentist’s instructions and legal requirements.
Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.
Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations – as allowed by state law.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials and assist Dentist during dental procedures.
Effectively provide dental education and information to patients to ensure patient awareness of dental health, and oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).
Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns
Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and regular office meetings..
Understand and follow company policy and procedures
Understand and follow state and federal laws related to a dental office

You’ll need to have
DDS/DMD degree, active and unrestricted license in state of Wisconsin
Clinical knowledge to practice comprehensive dentistry, including diagnosis and treatment of oral health issues
Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients
Ability to become credentialed with dental insurance plans
It’s a plus if you have
5+ years of clinical experience
Invisalign Certification preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position
Prolonged periods sitting and standing
Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
