As a Registered Dental Assistant - RDA, you are an essential member of our team, working alongside Dr. Bryan Mainhardt. Our aim is to make each patient's visit as stress-free as possible, and you are happy to help. Each day, you perform a variety of duties to help our dentistry practice run smoothly, such as maintaining our emergency supplies, fabricating crowns or other restorative materials, and ensuring clean and sterile instruments.
Your main tasks are to take radiographs and assist with procedures. As you do so, you are attentive to detail and quick to anticipate the needs of both the dentist and the patient, suctioning and handing over instruments at just the right moment. At all times, you are conscientious about following hazard protocols so that we can minimize infection.
A team player, you willingly help wherever you're needed to ensure that our patients have a five-star experience with us. You enjoy your interactions with them and love that you can help make a trip to the dentist a pleasant experience. How you make a difference:
The Dental Assistant is responsible for providing documentation of dental services to the dentist or their designee. This involves maintaining dental charts, keeping records of dental findings, and scheduling patients for dental appointments. By ensuring the accurate documentation of dental services, dental assistants enable dentists to monitor the provision of dental services and provide the best possible care to their patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides chair-side assistance during dental procedures, sterilizes instruments, and mixes restorative materials as needed
Performs intra-oral and extra-oral x-rays, develops and mounts x-ray films
Maintains x-ray, processor, autoclave, and dental unit(s) according to specifications
Manages inventory of supplies and equipment, orders supplies and ensures set up of trays for patients
Completes daily instrument count sheet, performs dental screenings, and maintains cleanliness and sanitation of dental clinic through careful practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
Requires an Associate’s Degree or Certification in Dental Technology from an accredited school.
Experience
Must have experience within either a private or public dental practice as a Dental Technician or Registered Dental Assistant.
Must demonstrate consistent sound judgment with dental decisions within the correctional healthcare environment.
Licenses/Certifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Have coronal polishing certification - We are able to provide a sealant course!
Verify the patient has consent for treatment from parent or guardian
Advise parent or guardian what to expect in the visit and address any concerns
Charting all existing/missing teeth, existing restorations, and/or dental procedures
Obtaining all x-rays necessary in the best quality possible
Maintaining accurate clinical notes of each visit
Clean and sterilize all instruments following OSHA and company standards. This includes; scrubbing instruments, packing the instruments and processing them through the statim or autoclave sterilizer
Must maintain Dental Assisting License in good standing and complete the CE Credits required by state
