Dental Hygienist Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum 2 years as a registered dental hygienist.
• Licensed in the State of Illinois
• Enthusiastic personality and must enjoy working with children.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; be able to communicate effectively with patients, parents, and team members.
• Possess a helpful, team-oriented mindset; take initiative to help, and can anticipate the needs of others.
• Be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while achieving the highest level of patient care.
• Well organized and detail oriented
• Reliable and punctual
• Eaglesoft dental software experience a plus.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
• Taking digital radiographs
• Assist pediatric dentist chairside for examinations
• Maintain patient records in dental software program, health history, charting, findings, notes, etc.
• Present and explain treatment plans
• Instruct patients (and parents) on oral hygiene
• Schedule appointments
• Perform dental prophylaxis, oral cancer screenings
• Periodontal probing as needed
• Apply fluoride treatments
• Sterilization of instruments, sanitization of treatment room and lab in accordance with OSHA, CDC, IDPH, and ADA guidelines
• Provide support to other team members
Work hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30 am-5:15 pm, with a 1-hour lunch.
