Description

Join a niche specialty team that does more than change smiles and improve confidence. We restore and rebuild lives. Due to front office staff retirement, the Prosthodontic dental specialty practice of Dr. Lawrence O. Sims is seeking a full-time administrative staff member with strong “all-around” administrative skills to perform (after industry training) the role of Business Office Coordinator to manage the non-clinical aspects of our highly distinguished, renown practice. If you are seeking meaningful work that utilizes authentic relationship building and your knack for technology and detail management, you may have just found your favorite career position in the niche dental specialty of Prosthodontics. Let us provide some context to better understand Dr. Sims’ advanced prosthodontic training within the dental industry. Have you ever wondered how patients with facial trauma from oral cancer, birth defects, combat, facial trauma, or auto accidents restore their chewing function and appearance? Or, what happens to the patient with such severe bone loss that the jaw can no longer accommodate an implant supported denture? Referred by their friends, physicians and oral surgeons, many patients find their way – within Georgia and from surrounding States – to the practice of Dr. Lawrence Sims with renewed hope. By thoughtful coordination of care with dedicated physicians, surgeons and lab technicians, we restore and rebuild lives. In a nutshell, what is the job of our Business Office Coordinator? It’s to support inter-specialty communications, patient communications, and scheduling processes involved with multi-staged, complex, restorative dental cases. Mouth full, right? (Did you smile? The pun was intentional.) We most value the “skills of communication” which is fundamental to success and defined as: • Effectively and respectfully translating and bridging, into streamlined language for the patient, the naturally occurring gaps of understanding or learning that are inherent to “multi-specialty doctor talk” when being provided extensive treatment plan details • Being an excellent listener to support learning case management details while having sincere empathy and understanding for the patient experience coupled with hope and optimism about the patient’s future oral health and comfort • Possessing superb narrative and summary letter writing for accurate and detailed documentation Wondering if you are qualified? First, answer these questions: • Do you desire to be part of a medical-dental team determined to make a difference for patients faced with extraordinary life challenges? • Would you like to learn about topics as innovative as stem cell regeneration and microvascular surgery? • Do your friends characterize you as a compassionate listener and thoughtful communicator? • Are you computer-friendly, tech savvy and value detailed documentation? • Do you envision yourself “running the non-clinical” side of a small, niche practice? • Can you comfortably direct one support staff member to complete tasks that you have prioritized? If you've answered “yes” to these questions, then read more about the job responsibilities and requirements. Job tasks and responsibilities include: • Attending meetings with multiple doctors and the patient (and support person to patient) to discuss treatment and coordination of procedures. • Building effective relationships with patients to ease the closely coordinated effort when scheduling integrative-specialist’s appointments (that are influenced by healing time, healing response and periodic modifications to the initial treatment plan). • Answering patient questions about fees, payments, and insurance and requesting/collecting payment when the next portion of the case fee is due. • Entering data, generating treatment letters and correspondences with referring offices. • Making new patient appointments and educating patients about process and policy. • Periodically visiting the offices of referring dentists and doctors to deliver a “gratitude gift” to show our support and appreciation for all they do. The candidate who joins our practice will: • Provide excellent employment references. • Comfortably work Monday – Thursday 7:20 AM – 4:15 PM. Enjoy Fridays off! • Have professional meeting/mediation/facilitation/consultation experience working one-on-one with clients, patients, or customers in an industry such as medicine, dentistry, social work, law, or banking. • Tech-savvy skills and eager attitude to continue to streamline digital processes. • Equivalent work experience or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, communication, management, psychology, or related field. • Stable work experience. • Pleasant telephone voice; A+ written and spoken communication skills. Offering rewarding salary and benefits. Application Instructions: a) To maintain our focus on patient care, we request no direct contact to our office during the initial steps of our hiring process. b) Showcase your communication skills by sending your personalized (not a DP template) resume and custom cover letter directly to our candidate get-to-know-you email address: [sign in to DentalPost to see current contact info] c) Qualifying candidates will be contacted with next-step instructions by one of our staffing consultants, Carol or Paige. Please remember to check not only your inbox, but spam and junk folders, too (in case our response to you is misdirected). We look forward to getting to know you.
