Description
Perio Health Professionals is seeking a Perio/Oral Surgery Surgical Dental Assistant for its highly respected and growing practice. As a Perio/Oral Surgery Dental Surgical Assistant, this position will play a pivotal role in the company’s clinical excellence and customer satisfaction. Expectations Delivering quality and compassionate care to patients Required to communicate well, and in a courteous and clear manner. Assist with exams Prepare exam room Seats patients in designated exam rooms in a timely fashion. Taking medical history and noting changes / concerns Taking x-rays and impressions Make notes about procedures, progress, treatment recommendations, or other subjects in the patients' charts. Assist with pre-operative consultations from time to time Assist with surgery Ensure that surgical instruments and the surgical operatories are properly cleaned, sterilized and organized before procedures begin and after they are finished Screening, receiving, comforting, and physically discharging patients from dental surgical procedures. Responsible for taking and checking vital signs, handling and passing instruments (including sharps), suctioning, retracting tissues, dressing surgical sites, and managing the patient during procedures. Knowledge and use of 4 handed dentistry during procedures. Performing post-op evaluations and care This includes answering questions and providing home care instructions with patients and families. Stocking supplies and operatories Performing other related duties Compliance with TSBDE rules as well as with ADA, CDC, HIPAA and OSHA standards is required. Qualifications At least two years of SURGICAL dental assisting experience with an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist full time A friendly, personable disposition that leads to memorable patient experiences An unrelenting commitment serving and caring for patients A fast learner who seeks self-improvement and education Maintain dependable job attendance Dentrix experience preferred. Required Certifications Registered Dental Assistant X-Rays Basic Life Saving / CPR High school diploma or equivalent Thank you, Management
