tick, tick, tick… Pop quiz for employers, when’s the next time you have a team member going away on vacation? Have you planned their replacement yet?

Check in with your Dental Staff About Upcoming Holidays and Vacations

There’s no better time than the present to start asking about time off for upcoming holidays. Make sure you have a temp staffing plan, so you don’t lose out on revenue. Here’s what you should know about preparing for your team members to be out of the office:

  • Will my team be here the day after the holiday?
  • Is anyone going away early (affects prior Friday/ Saturday)?

If you find out there’s a gap and have patients scheduled, ask yourself, “how will I fill the staffing gap, and when?”

When will you need temps in the future?

Even with the best planning, you’ll occasionally have team members out of the office. Sometimes, it’s scheduled, and the entire office is closed, like Thanksgiving, the 4th of July, or Christmas. Other times, it catches you off guard, like sick days or scheduling glitches.

Examples of when you will need an immediate temp
  • Sick Day
  • Family Emergency
  • Scheduling Glitch
  • Sick Kids
  • Aging Parents
Examples of when you might need a planned temp:
  • Vacation
  • Maternity Leave
  • Extended Illness

How to solve the Dental temp problem

Traditionally, dental employers and front office managers have had two immediate approaches to temp staff, 1) notify a saved list of past temp employees, or 2) route through a temp agency. However, with DentalPost, there’s a third option. Our 10-day temp job postings offer up to 5 days of coverage, with the ability to schedule temp coverage up to 90 days in advance.

Let DentalPost solve your temp problem!

Designed for filling short or long-term needs as quickly as possible, our temp jobs send an immediate alert to our local temp candidates with your information for them to call, email, or apply directly through our app. Since candidates can bypass the normal application process and contact you directly, you can think of it as “the most (qualified) early bird gets the worm.”

How it Works
